Ostentatious Room in Washinton DC

Was never told that it was a shared residence. No supplies, was constantly running out of toilet paper in shared bathroom, only utensils in kitchen was plastic forks, no storage/ dressers, and not enough seating in shared livingroom. First and last time using booking.com

Nothing.

I never saw the place and no one showed up to let me into the room. The building was locked. There was no notice that this place would not be available ahead of my arrival. The number given had no answer and there was another phone number on the door which eventually did answer. The person who answered offered to put me up at another place but it was not near where I needed to go-- plus, I didn't know the people, so why should I trust them to put me up somewhere else.

Nothing absolutely nothing this was an absolute scam. This appeared to be an illegal operation. The house looked like it was also a rehabilitation center.

The room itself was clean, and the common area, kitchen and bathroom were clean and stocked. It was warm in the room which was super appreciated as it was so cold outside. The kitchen has a very large refrigerator, stove, microwave so you can buy food and prepare there to save on meals during travel. The cupboards were well stocked with everything you need to cook with. Everyday the coffee, tea, and condiments are filled so you can make yourself a nice cup of coffee or tea in the morning. There is plenty of parking in the lot which is free, but be warned, the lot is shared with fastfood KFC/TACOBELL restaraunt.

First, the rooms are located above a restaurant so it was a little confusing to find at first. BE WARNED- there is LOUD MUSIC all hours of the night on the weekends coming from this restaurant! One night we had to ensure loud, bass-fueled music until 3am!!! That was awful as we had to be up early in the morning for an event. Just be warned, this may not be the place for you if you need sleep on the weekends. I would have appreciated some kind of warning about this prior to booking so I could have made a more informed decision. Also, there were 6-7 rooms on this upstairs level of the building and only ONE toilet. The toilet and shower were in the same room so that was also difficult if someone was showering (no one could use the toilet at the same time). One toilet, one shower--both in the same room. For 6-7 rooms with 12-14 guests potentially, that is just not enough. We were only given one bath towel for our entire 5 day stay as well. No handtowel, no washcloth. No way to get fresh towels either. That was also unacceptable. I would have appreciated a forewarning about this also. It is about a 25-30 minute drive to downtown DC.
