Delightful Seaside Binnacle Cottage -hosted by Whitstable-Holidays

Very well equipped. Very clean, with very comfortable beds.

Stairs were difficult, needed a handrail on other wall as quite narrow and steep

Everything you needed for a good stay, fully equipped kitchen etc. Comfortable beds. Excellent decor & soft furnishings. Loved Whitstable prints on walls.

Would have liked to have been abit closer to sea, but fine. Would have liked pre warning when booking property that only access to bathroom via one of the bedrooms, plus steepness of staircase. Nice touch what be to have name of cottage on plaque on frontdoor.

No milk provided and little coffee. Had to purchase our own. Door handles are still not fixed (from review in Aug) and the blinds in the property are broken/need repair. This is a problem when you have a reactive dog. Also the door leading to the front door doesn’t securely lock, the handles have come off - again a problem when you have a dog. Stairs very steep and doesn’t help that they are slippery. The garden was overgrown and unkept - unlike advertised photos. Also parking is a nightmare, there’s no space in the surrounding roads. I never leave bad reviews but for the price I paid (including extra £25 to access at 1pm) it really was poor. All in all, so disappointing and not worth the money :(

Quiet location. Spotlessly clean. Beautiful decor, minimalist made the place look spacious and uncluttered (not like home!). Indoor plants/ flowers were lovely addition. Outdoor space was invaluable and nicely done.

Being told the bathroom was through the 2nd bedroom AND there were steps upstairs (my friend is 89years old, very fit (we came to go cycling) but the steps were cause for concern!! Did I miss that detail - or wasn’t it mentioned!?? Slippery bath for shower (luckily I now carry a gripper bath mat)! Also, a gripper handle (for any age) to get in and out! But these are age related!

Lovely cottage with great facilities including a garden. Great location a short walk from all the amenities, shops, bars, restaurants and the waterfront. Great Coop 2 mins from the door.

The property had all the amenities you could need and was well decorated.

Almost all the door handles were really loose, with some missing all screws. Property wasn’t very soundproof, woke up a few times in the middle of the night to suspicious noises, presumably from next door but sounded like it was within the property.

The location was convenient, and very close to Whitstable's lovely shops and beach. The cottage was very cosy and clean. It was easy to get into the cottage with the keys in the lock box and we found communication with Nicky, our host really great. She was responsive.

It was really inconvenient given the only bathroom was accessible through one of our bedrooms. Whilst the host says she has included this in the information, it is really buried in the text and therefore, I think it should be higher up. We stayed with friends and I even had to pay extra for a mattress for our friend's daughter, so Nicky knew there were five of us there - that bathroom situation is not convenient when there are more than one couple in the cottage. I suggest this be really high up because for the price, it was not worth it. This could easily be rectified by having a downstairs toilet.
