The Secret Jungle Villas Seminyak

First time for us switching from a resort to a private villa.. will not look back!! The privacy you get being able to lock the front door of the courtyard as opposed to the front door is very unique. The secret jungle was just that, we could not see another villa, the walls were grown over with towering privacy palms that worked perfectly. There is basic room service options, you have to go for the 25aud for a floating breakfast for 2, it was amazing for the experience. We did not actually understand the layout from the photos online, so pleasantly surprised when we got the tour. We had the green villa, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, kitchen and pool. Yes it has the net and the funky swing. It was really well set out. Food options around I wasn’t overly impressed. It rained 5out of 7 days. So quick walks to eat was not easy. But when we could walk there was plenty to choose from. M mart - 3 min walk Coffee shop - 2 min walk Bintang supermarket- 9 min walk So everything was pretty easy to find. I will definitely stay here again.

Exceptionel! Merveilleuse villa, au calme. Les chambres ont chacune leur salle de bain. La piscine est top! Le personnel adorable et disponible. Nous avons adoré notre séjour et recommanderont the secret jungle villa.

New, clean , great location with fabulous staff

The yellow villa felt like a private retreat which was perfect to escape the business of Seminyak. My only issue was the mattress in the downstairs bedroom was very firm and I struggled to adjust. Pillows were not very comfortable either. My daughter however slept in the top stairs room and found her bed to be comfy.

Access One side of the road leading to the hotel is permanently closed. The other side was also temporarily blocked due to a temple celebration during our stay. When our local airport driver called the hotel to understand how to reach the place, nobody picked up the phone to help with directions and we were required to walk. It would have been great if the hotel would have shared instructions ahead of time. One part of the access road to the resort is very dark during the night and I recommend to bring a torchlight for safer walking. Reception The reception area is mostly unattended. Staff should be at the reception area but are mostly in an adjacent room next to it chatting and playing on their phones. On one occasion they left a set of villa keys unattended at the reception desk with nobody else in sight.

Rooms The rooms are ok but some have a strong mouldy smell. There's no fridge in room, and there is no phone to call the reception. The upstairs room does not have a television. The bathrooms of the Blue Villa (largest) are facing the reception area and because of the window not being isolated, you can hear staff talking and joking throughout the day - plus they can hear you in the bathroom. The bathroom floor is not slanted towards the drain and the water slowly covers the whole floor. The bedlinen in 2 rooms had stains. Breakfast Breakfast times are flexible and can be coordinated with resort manager. The resort does not have a kitchen and food is catered from a nearby resort. There is no menu to select breakfast from and despite having ordered the same breakfast, there were new variations every day. Staff did serve orange juice but did not offer coffee or tea until explicitly asked. Fruits were requested for breakfast but only watermelon was served until again asked for variety. The breakfast area is not shaded and gets really hot once the strong sun is up and reaches the breakfast area at ~8am. At this point it's impossible to enjoy it anymore due to the scorching heat. Unfortunately there are not enough tables in the rooms to continue to eat. Staff Whilst very friendly, they are not well trained. Cleaning the dishes are done in front of guests and cutlery is hastily cleaned with a rug that was on the floor earlier. Summary This hotel could be so much more - but despite being fully booked, management abandoned their job and let a young untrained team run the place.
