Lantern Cottage, Debenham

The property is located in a beautiful Suffolk village. The attention to detail in furnishing the property was amazing. Plenty of room. Very sunny, and quiet. The conservatory was well used by us as a lovely space. Well serviced by local shops and the pub next door is very friendly. Having a washing machine and dryer was amazing. We also enjoyed the fireplace. We left kindling for the next person.

Unfortunately the rain head on the shower wasn’t working very well. It might be limescale. We were also provided with the wrong combination to the gate (which was needed to access the lock box for house keys). This lead to a delay accessing the property on our arrival. Also the heating had been switched off so no hot water on first night. There was little to go on in terms of instructions for this, which was a shame. Also coffee machine leaks badly, and a microwave would have been useful. Simple fixes really which would have been welcomed after travelling some time to get there.

Location was perfect for us. Cottage was absolutely stunning. Lovely and cosy, with a beautiful wood burner. Gorgeous little village with chocolate-box cottages everywhere.

Self catering!! No breakfast supplied. The kitchen was well equipped for our purposes, although, if I could make a couple of suggestions….egg cups would be useful, as would a hand towel in the kitchen. We really appreciated the fans in the property as our stay coincided with several days of scorching weather.

The Yale lock on the front door is quite loose and this made it tricky to open the door. Also the key box to the right of the gates (inside) is in a most awkward position to access! However, these small matters did not detract from our enjoyment of Lantern House.

Beautifully appointed house in the heart of Debenham village. The house is everything you would need for a memorable visit. Comfortable beds, fantastic shower and everything you need in the kitchen. Highly recommended!

There were a few cleanliness issues but I was told that the housekeeping staff would notified.
