We stayed for two nights and were delighted with the accommodation. It is old but very well maintained. We had been wondering what cooking facilities there were apart from the wood stove (not going in mid-summer). There is a double hot plate which is adequate with the pots and frying pans supplied. There is plenty of space, the whole ground floor of the house. No-one was using the top floor. We noted previous reviewers that had trouble with locating the house using Google maps. There is NO PROBLEM now. Google maps takes you to the exact location.

The little dog across the road yapped a lot early in the evening.

Peace. Closure with nature. The house comes with a huge plot of land with a dedicated spot for BBQ on it. You get wooden stoves for heating in different rooms of the house. It is very immersive. You end up traveling back in time. You can cook on them, you can go out to the yard and have a BBQ. Or you can just admire the peace and quiet around you, especially in the night. The owner speaks comprehensive English and is willing to help. The value for the money is great if you're looking to rest from the usual city life. I would definitely recommend this to everyone looking for a new experience, especially if you're from a city.

Nothing, really. I liked everything. One VERY IMPORTANT thing to keep in mind: The house is in the village of Trućevac, about 6km from Despotovac. And the village has NO STREET NAMES and NO HOUSE NUMBERS. So Booking displays the owner's address, and not the address of the property. Because of that - when you book this property, please take care and CLARIFY THE LOCATION WITH THE OWNER. The village is small and the house is easy to find, but clarify it beforehand is a good idea. There are also things to consider, such as: - no restaurants or cafes in the village; nearest ones are in Despotovac - wooden stove room heating; you have to be prepared, if traveling in the cold time of the year, to manage that.

We liked the authentic experience we gained in the house on a big lot in the middle of a village, an orchard with a lot of plum trees, and a nice flower garden in front of the house. The experience was very relaxing. We enjoyed walking through the village and talking to local people. The village is close to two beautiful monasteries from 14th century, a beautiful cave with stalagmites and stalactites and waterfall called Lisine where we enjoyed local food in a beautiful mountain-style restaurant.

We think the roads to the village are a bit narrow and we needed to pay attention when driving our car.
