Exactly as pictured, our room was rustic yet with modern details, super cosy and comfortable. It had both AC and a heater. Magnificent view, yet with enough privacy. The shower had good pressure and hot water. The host is super kind and lend me a phone charger because I lost mine. Good family dinner. Definitely recommend.

this room was EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL and cozy. Amazing design and very tasty food! Maybe the best food i ve had until now in a hotel in Vietnam! Great view!

When I think of homestays during a trek, I usually release all expectations of luxury, cleanliness, and comfort. However, Muong Tra Homestay was a wonderful surprise. The rooms were clean, cosy, and well-maintained, with facilities that exceeded my expectations. The highlight for me was the hot shower—honestly better than some I’ve experienced in 4-star hotels—making it the perfect start to the morning after a long day of trekking. The home-cooked food was incredible, full of flavor and heart. I don’t often take the time to write reviews, but I can wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

The only downside is the soundproofing—it’s essentially non-existent. However, given the charm and quality of everything else, this small drawback is easy to overlook.

It's at a quiet location, away from the village. The beds were very comfortable, the room has a heating and AC, a great view on the mountains and looks newly renovated. We had trouble with our motorcycle when we wanted to leave and got great assistance from the staff, even taking us to the next mechanic. The dinner and breakfast was also very tasty and the woman at the reception speaks fluent English, which makes the communication very easy.

We had ants and other bugs climbing at the wall and ceiling. But it didn't really bother us and I can imagine it's very difficult to get rid of them in a wooden cabin.
