Silva Heritage Resort Goa

It has been only two years, since this handsome Portuguese villa was restored and turned into a hotel -yet there are already so many maintaining issues due to neglect and poor cleaning. The garden is very well kept, if only the rooms were as pristine and clean! Too many managers just standing around, astonishingly even the owners are daily on-site but seem to be blind about what is happening or NOT! Cleaning-boys from the village are obviously neither properly trained, nor supervised and manage to hide more often in empty rooms with their mobile telephones! The result: Dirty towels, a non-working safe, dripping airconditionings (our son had to move room), grimy bathroom floors, the dirtiest waste basket I have ever seen, non flushing toilet (next door), broken door (could not lock the door at night), mouldy sunlounges, a dirty pool. Worst of all: one can’t sleep properly, as all night long dogs are barking and noisy freight trains can be heard. Napping at the pool wasn’t possible either: one afternoon drilling was going on just beside the pool, even though there is a big wasteland, where these works could have been done, while the next afternoon a noisy machine with dark and smelly diesel fumes was started again and again. Booking was very complicated, they sent about 30 emails! Let me finish on a positive note: Breakfast and dinner were delicious (except for those stone-hard Danish), but better don’t be in a hurry!!!! The restaurant service is attentive, yet extremely slow and complicated.

Be aware that the hotel adds up to 50% on the taxi to Panjim and Dabolim airport.

The staff is very kind, warm and welcoming. They will make sure you stay is comfortable. The property is well maintained and beautiful.

Spa treatment was not upto the mark.

It is a beautiful heritage property with lovely gardens and a pool. It is quiet (except the church next door has loud speakers for its service every week day morning) The staff are very attentive , friendly and kind. It is located in a small village about 10 mins walk to restaurants about 10 mins drive to the beach at Benoulim which is beautiful.

The restaurant is too expensive and lacked character. There was either loud booming music or the TV was on disturbing the tranquility. Other than breakfast there is no reason to dine in.and most people ate outside the hotel. The hotel seems to have difficulty getting a taxi, you have to sort your own.

The property is absolutely stunning, well maintained and clean. The staff were friendly and highly attentive. The grounds and pool were immaculate and the spa service couldn't have been better (Jane worked wonders on my back)! I would definitely recommend and would love to visit again!

The location is a little remote - a good 30 mins walk to the beach.

The staff are rightly proud of the history of this house and how it has been so carefully restored. The restaurant and bar is a beautiful room with lots of old Portuguese touches.

The hotel is a little remote and we were woken by noises outside that the hotel can’t control like the 7:30 outside church service (with tannoy system) and the train horns.

Very special place ,amazing staff .Staying here is much more than just a Hotel, it’s a full on Goan experience.
