Toilet paper in a bin not the toilet

Our second stay here. Louise and her husband are extremely welcoming and kind. Our grandson spent time with them and their puppy, Pudding.

We were very comfortable at this property. The beds were great with lush linens, towels and blankets. As previously mentioned, one of the bedrooms is in the garage and is a small room with a bed, so may not be good for families but for us it was fine. Great communication with the owner. Beautiful gardens and nature, plus being off the main road in a valley made it very quiet. We didn’t use it, but there was a washing machine available too.

Cooking for 4 adults was a little challenging with there only being one medium sized pot, so we had to try improvise with a pan which didn’t quite work. Perhaps a few more pots of different sizes might be a nice addition to the kitchen? We were also a little uncomfortable having to put our used toilet paper in an open bin next to the toilet instead of flushing it, which I know, having done lots of travel, is quite normal in Asia, but here in NZ it’s not customary. As others have mentioned, not much furniture or styling in the house, which is fine for us, but there is only one couch to fit 3 people and the large tv is oddly on the floor.

The TV was positioned on the floor without a stand & I thought it’s a little strange that there’s a sign in the toilet asking to put your used toilet paper in the bin (without a lid) instead of in the toilet .

Lovely facilities, clean and everything we needed, and we were sent great instructions.

It was very clean and had everything we needed.

The lounge room was very sparsely furnished, almost to the point of feeling empty and clinical. One couch for four people was a bit odd! Also not a single thing on the walls just made it feel very cold, rather than homely. This didn't really impact on our stay. It is just about how the place feels.

Quiet and private. Close to everything in Albany. Short drive to beach.

Great little place, will stay again. Chocolates and fruit bowl was a lovely touch. Clean with everything you need for a short term stay.

One of the bedrooms is in the garage area, which is a bit odd. Not ideal with young children. If you keep the door into the garage open to make sure you can hear the kids should they wake up at night etc., the house becomes freezing cold. Not a biggie for anyone with older kids or adults I guess.

Very comfy beds and warm blankets on bed was a winner. Shower was also good.
