Cleaness and how easy it was to check in and out.

Clean and modern room with a wonderful balcony view to mount Etna and one of the churches in town. The self check-in went smoothly. The manager was helpful. There was a small fridge, an electric kettle, coffee and tea. I was a bit worried before arriving there because some of the reviews mentioned that the neighbourhood did not look safe. However, I (male solo traveller) had no problems. The feeling of insecurity probably comes from the dilapidated buildings and the rubbish on the streets, but that is not unique to this neighbourhood. The Benedictine Monastery (one of the main attractions) is very close, and the city centre is within walking distance. There is a lift in the building, but I never used it (the room is between the first and the second floor).

I could hear the neighbours talk or watch TV from time to time in the evening. And I could hear very clearly when someone entered or exited the other rooms, which all open to a common entrance hall.
