The actual physical room was better than the rest of the hotel facility.

The hotel is in physical disarray. Those carpets had never been cleaned and look literally like they've had fraternity parties in the hallways. If they replace the carpets and did a thorough scrub down it could be fine.

Not a whole lot to like.

We arrived late at night and went straight to bed. Check in was a breeze since we had done the pre-registration online. In the morning, one person in our party used the toilet and after flushing it got clogged. We called down to the desk and they said maintenance wasn't on shift yet. They offered a plunger, but since we were planning on having breakfast and leaving we just decided to use the lobby restrooms instead. After breakfast, I thought I'd stop by the front desk to checkout and remind them that the bathroom was clogged in case maintenance was back, and the receptionist snapped back "Why didn't you come get the plunger and unclog it? Wow. It's going to be like that? Whatever. Not my headaches anyway." I was caught speechless by this. Eventually I said that I expected that was something maintenance needed to work on and we made do with the restroom in the lobby. To which she responded that we weren't welcome to come back. I never thought I'd get told off for not plunging a toilet at a hotel I paid a significant amount of money for, but I guess you're never too old for new experiences.

The breakfast was good.

The room smelled terrible, the carpet throughout the whole hotel (my room, the common areas, and the hallways) were stained and nothing looked clean.
