Ideal location for the Scottish Borders, lovely river walk to the town of Melrose from hotel. We used it as not too far from North Berwick for the golf we attended.

"Don’t book it! Would rather have slept in the car"

Nothing at all to like.

Miserable, damp,smelly hotel. Room was less than basic with the tiniest bathroom I ve ever seen. Shower just dribbles out water. Bed was tiny and rock hard. Windows only open an inch so room was hot and stuffy and smelled musty and damp and covered in mould. No welcome or info on arrival apart from “breakfast is 8-9”. Didn’t stay for breakfast even though we d booked b&b as couldn’t wait to leave.

Nice big room, quiet friendly staff. Somewhere secure for our bikes.

It’d be nice to have a thinner duvet and thicker curtains. Also a dedicated indoor secure bike room would be good. We left ours in an office which felt like it would be in the way for staff.
