Black Star Ranch Vineyard

A unique place, decorated in an interesting style. It is a nice break from typical hotels in large cities. Worth a visit.

We stayed in what we ended up calling "The Guest House" and we were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was. The rooms were nicely clean...little dusty, but if you know anything about Nevada you know you can dust in the morning and then need to dust again in the afternoon! Being from Reno, NV. the dust didn't bother us at all. The only thing I would suggest is a bit more clean-up on the outside, There were bit of refuse here-n-there (some gloves, some animal food cans.....little stuff like that} and a serious weeding is in order. But that's just a matter of having time do get to it.

Just some tiding-up gardening. My hay fever really kicked in. BUT...the dog Gracie was a darlin !!! and worth every second being outside giving her love!

We brought our own groceries and it was a well appointed kitchen, but the floating shelves were no match for the dust and fly dander from the many winged guest. We did eat at Carmelo’s hands-down fantastic food.

Black Star Ranch & Vineyard" - where horror movies meet failed hospitality. Picture a "vineyard" that's not as pictured online, complete with free-roaming dogs marking their territory everywhere and enough flies to make you question your life choices. Your "private cottage" features paper-thin walls separating you from what sounds like a 24/7 dog kennel convention, complete with 2 AM air mattress symphonies. The decor screams "abandoned estate sale" with a special touch of white dog hair artfully distributed across every black surface. Sleep? Optional. Peace? A distant dream. Wi-Fi exists solely to search for escape routes. Booking.com count your days... If you're seeking authentic Texas Chainsaw ambiance with a splash of questionable vineyard branding, you've hit the jackpot. Everyone else, keep driving.

The owner Sally was very nice and accommodating. The room was a great size with everything you could think of needing. Enjoyed listening to the farm animals.

The room could have been swept and vacuumed before we arrived. The area outside needs a lot of work. There were dogs present that barked and whined. Alert your customers that you have dogs as they were wandering the property not on leashes.

We felt at home, in this large house for 3. We slept in a bed and a sofa. The owner was rapidly responding to our messages, thanks for that. Short drive to downtown. Well situated close to Death Valley, Las Vegas and before Grand Canyon

None (maybe a second bed would help)

Excellent little place to stay, plenty of room for the family and even a patio space. Everything you would need included with the room. Very well done!
