RS Phong Riverside Resort

Isolated so good if you are looking for nature and a peaceful environment. The villas are clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and courteous. Beautiful setting. Pet friendly - our dog loved it.

It is far from town and restaurants if that is important to you. For us, it was perfect.

Clean and tidy resort , basic room but good value for the price - issue was only saw 2 staff member’s, one let us into the property and the other was cutting the lawns. Noboby spoke English and no food or drinks were available morning/day/night - couldn’t even buy a cold drink.

No food / drinks or staff available - maybe the time of year or the fact no work convention was on but felt mis-lead showing the menus on booking.com and nearest restaurant was approx 3km away. Pool was dirty.

RS Phong Riverside is a hidden gem!! If you are traveling to Khon Kaen you should stay here! My friends and I (young expats from America) stayed here for a weekend trip to the city and it was all we could have wanted and more! It is a huge property with a beautiful riverside view. What makes the stay incredible is the staff. The owner Kim is the best!! She is so kind, welcoming, and helpful. If you're worried about your Thai ability, don't! Kim speaks fabulous English and goes above and beyond for her guests. The staff can call you a taxi directly from your cabin to the city or where you plan on going. The pool is wonderful, and snacks and drinks are available for purchase. I plan on coming back!

The relaxing environment

This is a wonderful resort, run by lovely, warm people, to enjoy nature and rest in peace and happiness. If you don't have a car no problem as you can borrow a motor buke from the resort. The whole resort is on a very large, fully treed, property which is so well maintained and spotlessly clean, as is the room. We could not fault the room with its balcony looking over a small creek and the many old, towering trees. There is a restaurant about 2 kms away which serves the most delicious Thai food - try the fish (my Thai wife is an excellent Thai food chef herself and she raved about the food). We only live 3hrs drive away and will return regularly for a break to enjoy the general ambiance and the local food. We left stuff there by mistake but they just posted it on to us, happily.

It was a little far outside the city, but a very nice place to get away.
