SandalMist Resort and Spa

We stayed at Sandalmist Resort & Spa on August 13 and had a truly refreshing and enjoyable experience as a family. The whole place has a calm, welcoming vibe that makes it ideal for both adults and kids. Every part of the stay felt thoughtful and peaceful, with something for everyone to enjoy. Pool Time The pool was clean and relaxing. Our kid had a great time playing in the water, and it turned into one of our favourite parts of the stay. Food The food at Sandalmist was absolutely delicious. We especially loved the Venadu palkonju, which was full of flavour and very unique. We also enjoyed Kerala porotta, butter naan, chef’s special Luttapoi chicken, kanthari chicken, and fried rice. The breakfast was another highlight, offering a wide variety of traditional Kerala dishes that gave a perfect start to the day. Activities There were lots of things to do as a family. We had a great time cycling around the property, and the kids’ play room was well-kept and full of fun options for little ones. It was nice to have some relaxed time while our child stayed entertained. Forest Walk, Tower Café & a Beautiful Surprise The forest walk was quiet and refreshing, giving us a chance to enjoy nature together. Our child loved exploring the path. We also visited the Tower Café, which gave us a beautiful view of the greenery around and was a lovely spot to sit and relax. We were also lucky to get a chance to view a peacock dance, which was a magical and rare moment for all of us. Candlelight Dinner The candlelight dinner was beautifully arranged and felt special even as a family. The setting was peaceful, and the food made it even better. Morning View Waking up to the morning view from our cottage was a wonderful experience. Misty hills, birds chirping, and total calm—it was the perfect way to begin the day. The property is in a great location with beautiful views of the hills and forest. Since it was recently developed, the amenities appear new and well maintained. The staff are very kind and helpful. Breakfast is exceptional.

Room fresheners were not used, and there was an unpleasant smell upon entering the room. We also noticed small insects inside. While the staff were kind and polite, they lacked professionalism—I would suggest some training to improve service quality. We had requested two adjacent rooms, but the property layout does not support such arrangements. Additionally, most items on the menu card were unavailable.

Wonderful experience!!

The resort is located in a top of a hill which gives an incredible feeling of being in a top of the world in the middle of nature. you are away from mudane life and all is perfect to make your stay very pleasant. All is there to feel welcome. Staff are kind.

this place needs to be known, so worth the trip.

The location is beyond our expectations. Resorts like Sandal Mist in Kasaragod nobody can imagine. The enablers they have is par with Five Star facilities. I recommend SM for everyone.

Pool location is Awesome. The beauty of nature can be easily feel from the pool.

Wifi connection was bit issues

This new resort has all the ingredients for the perfect stay. Well appointed, comfortable and spotless rooms, hot water, quiet AC and ceiling fans. The rooms are spread across the whole site so even when other guests are on site your privacy is maintained. The rooms have been built so the balcony or windows are facing the view, as nature lovers we really enjoyed this. The site has been thoughtfully planted with lots of shady areas to sit and relax. The decor is very tasteful and celebrates traditional crafts and building methods. The restaurant has AC and serves very tasty food. While we were there it was obvious that the restaurant was focused on high quality food, everything we tried was excellent. The icing on the cake is the hospitality of the staff. Definitely five stars for customer service. We cycled to the resort and the extra up at the end of a ride was 100% worth it.

Not just the place but its people that makes it more beautiful. The vibe they give makes the stay more comfortable. Starting with room till service , starting from your security uncle to your GM, everyone has welcoming smile. You have a concern, irrespective of their role & level, anyone will jump into help. Dont judge the quanity of rice, fried rice, their prices are decent. Curries and rotis are of same quanity you get anywhere but comparitively low prices. I got to celebrate new year night in cave room, unsure if anyone stayed there got chance enjoying like i did, but beautiful star gazing, started year watching 2 meteors, what more i can ask for. Sujith & team planned small event with making the guests as family, amazing singing from Sujith, GM, the Room boy. Overall i would say even if you have a bad day, chat with Sujith, GM, the Chef, the watchman old uncle, all give you such a vibe and makes your day better that what it is. I wish all the best to Sandlemist and want to see it topping the charts with continuous improvements.

Food is the only scope where they can do much better interms of taste but 4 months into market, its too early to judge. With their nature, i am 100% sure they turn anything to be beautiful. FYI for the price they charge, you will get the taste that ensures you eat heartfully. Scope of imprvement is more on options, more tasty like addiction.
