Rocky Creek Shepherds Hut

The property provided a warm and cozy haven from the pouring rain. Beautiful surrounds, comfortable with every convenience we needed for an overnight stay and close to facilities (bars, restaurants, etc).

Although the cabin is near the main homestead, we didn’t see any one. It would have been nice to say

This shepherd’s hut is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The surrounds are picturesque and conveniently located walking distance from a lovely restaurant and a short drive from Mathieson Lake and Fox Glacier.

We only stayed here one night but we loved the Shepherd's Hut. It was a small space but had a lot packed in, and was beautifully finished. It would be great for a romantic getaway. The setting was spectacular - located away from others and with stunning views. Also, a great base for exploring the local glaciers and tramping trails.

This is not a dislike, but the bed is tucked in and if both parties need to get out of bed frequently at night it might be a bit tricky.

It was in a good location and everything was provided for. The breakfast was delicious.
