The hotel was great. The room was one of the cleanest I've stayed in India. The location is very local; there's not much to do, but if you are a foreigner like me, it's kind of nice to observe a glimpse of local life.

Although the outside was a little off putting with the street works, the staff made this place an amazing hotel to stay in. Very warm and welcoming and made to feel completely at ease and safe inside. The room and bathroom was also very clean. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a stay near the airport.

I want to be honest and say first that I was hesitant to book this location on booking.com due to the number of positive reviews on places like Google (where I first left this review) and how new they all seemed. I was glad I decided to visit anyways because I learned during my stay that this is a new hotel and every positive review left before was well deserved. I stayed at this hotel for a brief rest with my partner after an overnight train before my first of many flights that evening. I was touched by the warm welcome we received and the gift of the Assamese shawl for being their first international guests. When we arrived the man at the counter was quick to help us with our bags from the taxi and offered to arrange anything we might need. I noticed that when he carried our bags to our room he slipped off his sandals by the door before entering. It made me feel as though he was treating the room we had rented from him like our home and wanted to respect it as such. That courteous gesture was so quick and natural for him that I could have overlooked it, but it was really appreciated. We were very happy with our stay there and wished we could have stayed longer. I will gladly stay at the Hotel Hari Gayatri Regent next time I am in Assam and look forward to visiting again. Rooms: The pictures accurately portray the rooms. The bed was very plush and the linens were clean and soft. The bathroom was well equipped with a shower as well as a bucket for bathing, and a European style toilet with bidet. All was very clean and well maintained. There were plenty of towels and toiletries provided. This was the most comfortable hotel I had stayed at while in India. Safety: The rooms are only accessible past the front desk and they are enclosed within the building. There is a heavy slidebolt on the door and the police station is nearby. I did not travel solo this trip, but I would feel comfortable staying here as a woman travelling alone.
