Rocky Road Mountain Lodge

Rocky Road Mountain Lodge is truly a gem! Our stay was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The unit we stayed in was nothing short of lovely—immaculately clean, thoughtfully designed, and exuding a romantic charm that set the perfect mood. Every detail lived up to their eco-friendly promise, making us feel both pampered and responsible at the same time. The highlight for us was the outdoor net, which provided an unforgettable experience of relaxation amidst nature. We enjoyed the breathtaking views while being cradled in comfort. It was, hands down, our favorite feature. There's so much to do in the surrounding area, but the unit itself was so spectacular that we opted to spend our last afternoon just soaking up the magic of the space. It was a cozy, serene retreat that we simply couldn’t pull ourselves away from. And let me not forget to mention the hosts—absolutely amazing! Warm, welcoming, and attentive, they went above and beyond to ensure our stay was flawless. Rocky Road Mountain Lodge is the best of both worlds: a tranquil escape with adventure at your fingertips. We can’t wait to return and will be recommending this place to everyone we know!

It’s Cosy and secluded it’s a piece of heaven. The views are absolutely amazing.

There is nothing bad to say really.

Everything especially the fact that the place is isolated, away from everyone. You get a chance to reconnect with yourself, your partner, nature etc (everything was clean, the outdoor shower, the jacuzzi even though it takes longer to warm up about 1.5 to 2 hours for the water to be warm)

If you require housekeeping for stays shorter than 2 nights, you have to pay for it separately. Our stay was 3 days, 2 nights

1. Loved the wood fired hot tub outside 2. My husband loved the outside shower. 3. The room had very modern interior. 4. The unit was secluded from the other units (Just a note - the house is facing the city so you have a city view more than a mountain view) 5. Location was close enough to other attractions (such as Harties cableway etc)

1. The aircon was leaking onto the stove whenever we put it on (We reported it to the hosts, who sent someone to have a look at it, however there was no further feedback until the day before we checked out at 2:30pm when we were told that they will be replacing the aircon and someone is going to come on the day of our checkout) 2. The pan and crockery looked very grimy, as if it needed a really good scrub. We had to rewash all the crockery and cooking utensils before using it. 3. The new towels that were given to us smelt extremely dusty and made us smell dusty so I would suggest that you carry extra towels. 4. There are 2 shower heads inside - one of them was not working properly which we reported but did not see a difference in the pressure 5. Shower floors also look like they need a good scrub 6. Sanitary bags should be provided in the bathroom - we had to purchase our own 7. The day before our checkout we were told that the surveyor was coming the morning of our checkout to mark the pins for the next unit and that there will be some movement around our unit from 7am - upon expressing my frustration about this, the host's husband then calls and gives a different story (i.e. that they are putting a fence around the whole farm and won't necessarily be by our unit) - this made us feel uncomfortable as we wanted to enjoy the hot tub before leaving that morning but could not because we were not comfortable being in our swimwear with strangers walking around. 8. Upon checkout the hosts were not as friendly - we messaged to say that we left and the location of the keys and to date did not receive a reply
