Aravinda Resort Ninh Binh

Not much. It was very run down and almost desolate.

The rooms smelt of mould, slime in the pool and the facilities in general were very run down. There seemed to be no other guests when we arrived. We asked to cancel our booking and receive a refund, which the manager agreed to. However, once we had booked our accommodation elsewhere, the manager reneged on his agreement. Very unprofessional and manipulative.

Le service est catastrophique. Le personnel ne parle pas anglais. Petit déjeuner correct sans plus. Nous avons commandé un cocktail au bord de la piscine. Nous étions les seuls clients: plus d’une heure pour avoir les cocktails un par un. Ils ont été préparés à l’aide de tuto regarde sur Google. Ils confondaient les cocktails : une vraie catastrophe plusieurs jours de suite.

I genuinely appreciated the beautiful room. It was aesthetically pleasing and well-designed. Additionally, the housekeeping staff were exceptionally friendly.

While the room itself was beautiful, my overall experience at Aravinda fell far short of expectations, especially considering the price. I specifically chose to pay more and travel further for a quality retreat, and while Ninh Binh was wonderful, Aravinda was a significant letdown. The hot water system was extremely poor. I frequently had to contact the front desk to have the water heater restarted. Even then, the bathtub would only fill about one-third of the way before the hot water ran out, leaving only lukewarm water. The resort's amenities had inconvenient operating hours. The bar closed at 10 PM, and after that time, the front desk also ceased operations, with only a security guard remaining on duty. This left guests with no support or services late in the evening. Housekeeping was also an issue. I left my room at 10 AM, requested cleaning at the front desk, and hung the "make up room" sign. However, upon returning in the afternoon, the room was untouched. When I called the front desk, they informed me that housekeeping only starts at 3:30 PM, which is an unusual and inconvenient schedule. The front desk staff were not particularly welcoming or friendly. Furthermore, the breakfast menu was identical on both days of my two-day stay, offering no variety. Location and transportation after dark were problematic. I had to rely on taxis called by the front desk because ride-sharing services like XanhSM were extremely slow. The surrounding area lacks restaurants, coffee shops, or even streetlights, making evening strolls impossible and unsafe. Finally, a minor but annoying detail was the resort slippers. They absorbed water easily and remained damp and uncomfortable even after being left in an air-conditioned room overnight. For the price, apart from the aesthetically pleasing room, the hot water system, service attitude, and overall amenities were nowhere near what I expected for a quality resort experience.

Calm and secluded resort. The rooms and bathrooms are beautiful. Also a big thanks to the staff . We would visit again .
