Down the Shore Campground

The pool was clean and the lake was beautiful.

It was close to the pool. There was a fire pit and lots of places to sit inside and outside. Adorable dolphin fountain out front.

The picture above is a wooden cabin, we didn't get a wooden cabin. That would've been fine if we knew ahead of time. Many things were broken or breaking, the dining chair and the dining table leg were coming apart, the lights upstairs were all busted, and the recliner was on its last legs so we decided not to use it. Outside in the tiki area, the raining water feature only worked 1/3 of the time. The mini golf had crumbled and busted stones. Obviously things wear down over time and it costs money to replace or repair things, however, keeping things cleaned up and usable would have been preferable.

Location close to everything. Facilities were nice and clean. The other visitors at the campsite were very friendly. Amazing staff from the moment we got there to the minute we left.

The cabins are beautiful. The grounds are so nice. We felt so comfortable just enjoying ourselves with our families and having fun. The pool is terrific, too

It was very clean

A few things. The most important, there is no AC outside of the living area and regardless of how high you cranked it, the bedrooms were unbearably hot at night. I actually spent 2 out of the 3 nights sleeping on the futon because of the heat and humidity. No decor outside of one futon in the living room. Amenities provided were, very literally, a roll of paper towels, two rolls of toilet paper, and a stack of solo cups. I know it said to bring most of your own things, but wow. I’m not sure if campground means trailer park at the shore, but it was basically a glorified trailer park. Said trailer park was also not well maintained, consisting of mainly rocks and patches of unkept grass with random poles and concrete bricks spread around. The pictures made it look like the “cabin” had some yard room in the pictures, there was none. The 4 “cabins” owned by the same owner were stacked right next to one another. Didn’t expect much but didn’t expect this little.

The location of our cabin was excellent! We were right next to the playground and the pool!!

Would have liked to be able to bring all of our dogs. We had to leave the brother/sister tiny chihuahuas behind. Also if you stay in the cabin, make sure to bring a toaster and coffee machine if those are necessary in your life! Lastly, be mindful of the size of the water heater on cabins… we ran out of hot water during showers!

Everything. Beautiful brand new cabin with everything we needed and the property around it was immaculate. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Amazing campground everyone was friendly. Lake/beach and pool well maintained. This is our new go to place for the Jersey Shores
