River Pavilion, Kitulgala

Fantastic new property right on the beach. Room was spacious with good amenities. They will have host was very kind and generous. Meals were very good. Great value for money and highly recommended.

Electricity cut every 10 minutes till 10 pm after 10pm cut only 1 at 3 am morning

It is The Location. Jungle views over the river in a private setting with various species of monkeys going about their daily business right through your open space terrace living room. The breakfast service was amazing. While the menu is set, the chef was flexible enough to adjust the menu to our liking and to avoid repetitiveness. Needless to say the food was amazing. We used the dinner option as well making the stay super comfortable and effortless. The space was clean and appeared well looked after, with small design touches across the board. Well set apart of the majority of locally run settings making you feel understood while keeping the vibe in check.

There could be some sound insulation on the two central bedroom ceiling as it also serves as floor boards for the living room terrace. Meanwhile the container rooms on the sides are very quiet.

Amazing location, such a relaxing stay hidden in the jungle. Staff were super friendly and helpful - arrived to a delicious meal which we had pre ordered. Could have asked for more.

An exceptional place. Amazing views of the river and Forrest. Our host made our stay even more special. His cooking was incredible and authentic, teaching us about the ingredients and how they are sourced locally. A highlight of our stay in Sri Lanka.

Not the easiest to find, but that’s the point really. But just keep going down the little road and you’ll find it. Our host was waiting at the gate to greet us.

The location and the design of the pavilion is beautiful. Receding in to the jungle but completely open to the river and views made it a really special experience. The bedrooms are generous and beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are clean and amazing warm showers! The food was delicious and the host and staff were very responsive and helpful to us.

Due to the proximity to the jungle and river as we entered the rooms had a bit is a damp smell. But that quickly disappeared as we ran the air conditioning and opened the doors.
