Bald Mountain Lake Escape

The owner is very nice, responsive and accommodating. The property is close in to the amenities of Rumbling Bald resort which was great. We enjoyed the lake beach, pools and tennis courts. Not too far from Chimney Rock on the other side of the lake. Beds were pretty comfortable, unit was clean and the screened porch was great.

the AC units need work, especially the downstairs one. The unit gets very hot and stuffy in the living room area even with the AC on full blast during the heat of the day. it just doesn’t get cold enough. the upstairs units are very loud and point at the beds which can be uncomfortable to sleep through (all are window units). We also didn’t like that we had to pay a $500 security deposit, but even more so that there was a $15 processing fee as part of it. None of that was clearly disclosed prior, however, we understand that the host has to pay those fees and needs to protect his property. Not a huge deal but would have been good to know ahead of time. Finally, there a lot of requirements around leaving the home. We had to drive our trash to a dumpster, which should be part of the cleaning fee imo. Our car was packed so it was difficult to manage.
