Lovely apartment with a great location

Location was very hard to find with a car

The apartment itself is a genuinely good base. It's well decorated, spacious and stylish which clearly someone put thought into it. The location in Machico is hard to beat: flat, walkable, and surrounded by shops and restaurants. Check-in was smooth and fully automated, which suits travelers who just want to get in without back-and-forth. The shared washing machine and dryer were a welcome bonus, and in Madeira's humidity the dryer was honestly more useful than expected. For parking, May was easy, there are several street options nearby that are cheaper than the €10/day the host offers, so don't feel pressured into it.

The toilet had a persistent sewage smell that was hard to ignore. It wasn't a dealbreaker for the stay, but it's the kind of thing that should be fixed. If you're someone who values a personal hosting touch, the fully automated communication style won't offer that although practically it worked fine.
