Cosy cottage in Snowdonia

Lovely location as views of stream and fields with sheep directly opposite. Walking distance to small shop and pub.Parking on road directly in front of accommodation and space for second car beside property.Nice large kitchen table to seat 6 adults. Good laundry room with a washing machine and a heated airer to hang wet clothes. Spacious bathroom. Modern nice clean bed linen and comfortable beds. Bottle of fizz and nibbles a nice welcome touch.

The owner informed us on the day of arrival that the dishwasher wasn’t working. We also found the coffee machine didn’t work either, fault light came up saying it needed a descale. We were greeted with an awful smell downstairs in the accommodation that we could work out where it was coming from. We were later told by the owner that it had been caused by spilt milk in the kitchen that hadn’t been cleaned up properly before we arrived. However the property did appear very clean so hopefully this was rectified later by the cleaner. The owner was very apologetic and gave a small token refund. Cookware was very limited to saucepans, a frying pan and oven trays, a plastic jug and bowl. A microwave or oven proof dish would have been really useful. Nice furniture in living room but only enough for 5 adults when the property caters for 6. There were 6 adults in our party so someone always had to sit on the floor or bring a dining room chair into the living room which wasn’t ideal. In the bedroom with the double bed there was only 1 bedside lamp. I couldn’t read in bed without having the main bedroom light on which wasn’t very relaxing.

Overall, it was quite OK. Parking spot is excellent.

While "a spirit of traditional accommodation" is appreciated, some contemporary improvements would be nice to have. For example, a length of the water tap's nozzles in the bathroom was so short that one would always touch the sink by hands to pick up some water.

Cosy Cottage truly lives up to its name. I loved how warm and inviting it felt the moment we walked through the door. The interiors were beautifully styled—rustic charm with all the modern comforts. The log burner was a perfect touch after long walks in the fresh mountain air, and the views from the windows were absolutely stunning. The kitchen was fully equipped, which made cooking easy and enjoyable, and the bed was incredibly comfortable for a great night’s sleep. Everything was spotless and thoughtfully arranged, making it a perfect home away from home.

The only thing I wasn’t too keen on was the electric shower, as it wasn’t quite as powerful as I’m used to. That said, I completely understand it’s due to the cottage not being on mains gas—and it certainly didn’t take away from how much we enjoyed our stay. Just a small trade-off for such a beautiful, remote location!

Great hospitality, great location, lovely little cottage with some nice welcoming touches. It was a real home from home for us with a Christmas tree and a log burner all set up in the living room. So good we stayed extra nights.

the rear of the property in the garden was pretty derelict and dangerous and there was an area above the garden where rubbish had been piled up including old sofas etc. The utility area was obviously a work in progress but it didnt impact on our enjoyment . The house is still under refurbishment in some areas but where they have finished it is very nice and its obvious that they are doing their best to provide a stylish and comfortable house whilst keeping a lot of the original charm of a house of its age. Heating very good. Lounge very comfy with comfortable furniture, bed comfy with good quality linen. We loved it!
