Borgo Coloniola Lake View

The apartment is very light and airy, with a lovely view over the lake. The rooms are spacious with plenty of storage space., and were beautifully clean. We didn't really do any serious cooking as there is such a good choice of nearby restaurants but the kitchen was adequately equipped for simple meals and drinks. The location is great, just a hundred metres from the lake edge and only a short walk to the centre of town and the ticket office for the lake boats. Communication with Marco before we arrived and during our stay was very easy. He kindly let us leave our suitcases in the apartment until our taxi for the airport arrived.

We arrived and up arrival everything was fine. When then went out to the shop to get some bits and as we opened up the door the lock completely went. We tried to open up and we couldn’t get back in to the property. We waited nearly a hour for someone to turn up and all of our belongings were inside. The guys who turned up were apologetic but as for the owner on the phone, seemed no sense of urgency. A refusal of a lock smith to get back into the property as it was “ expensive” yet we couldn’t get into the property with all of our belongings. At this point is was 9PM at night and we needed to get back in to the apartment for an early start for work in Milan. The guys turned up as it seemed genuine compared owner, who didn’t believe that the lock was faulty when we were on the phone to him, for him to only find out it was. They had to leave the lock off overnight therefore we felt really unsafe. We were told that no one could get into the building, but still not right. This was a work trip for us so it’s not like we were going to be around all day but even so this is not the point when you are paying €1500 for 3 nights!! The day after the lock did get changed and it is now working Absolutely fine, although we had to leave the apartment unlocked with all of our belongings inside and was really trusting to make sure no one had taken anything. Just a list of things which also seemed off compared to what the photos show; Bedroom 1 - shower door faulty and leaks - air Con Leaks Bedroom 3 - Aircon doesn’t work / isn’t any and the door to the balcony doesn’t open correctly - just something to be aware of!! Main area: Clean and tidy - tv works, fridge, freezer and hob, as you would expect. Plenty of storage I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it. Plenty of other places in Lake Como which are better value for money! Good location and can see the view of the lake and easy accessible to restaurants etc.
