Thorshamar sea side villa

Lovely house that’s entirely yours, with a written history of the place inside. Great view of the bay — we even saw a whale from the living room. Fantastic hosts, and during our 4-day stay we had zero issues with the house.

We had the whole villa to ourselves which made a change from being in hotels. It had a lovely seating area inside with big patio style windows overlooking the harbour so you could relax and watch the birds. There was an outdoor decked area too with a picnic table. Our host provided some milk and nice things for breakfast. There was no key handover - when we rang the host she said the door would be unlocked.

Beautiful location, the accommodation was exceptionally clean and tidy . Beautifully decorated with lovely finishing touches, the breakfast left in the fridge was a lovely surprise.

A perfect place with great views, and everything g you need for a relaxing stay. Absolutely clean throughout and to top it all - a great breakfast was provided!

went to the n1 to check in (other option was to go to guesthouse - but parking lot was full, or call directly but icelandic # would have cost money for my phone plan). karen drove out to greet, show thorshamar, etc - very personal touch. breakfast was also provided in the fridge; she thought that 2 people were staying, but there was enough food in there to feed 4 (eggs, bread, yogurt, cheese, deli meats, jams, milk). beautiful view of the harbor (but it is under construction). one of my favorite drives in iceland started here - Stórikarl Skoruvíkurbjarg (and then the lighthouse); didn't think it would really take this long, but 1.5 hrs each way, but worth it for the journey.

very warm as with most places in iceland. had to close the curtains to the lovely view, and then open each of the windows (they're old timey, and some latches were broken or didn't have the "stay," so it took about 5 min to figure out which ones i could/should open).
