Cosy Getaway 5mins to Doubtful Sound Cruise

A quiet cosy house in a great location for the Real NZ cruise on Doubtful Sound. We loved the wood burner, the comfy lounge with big sofas, lots of cushions and a great selection of board games.

Cosy comfortable stay walking distance to the walking track.

The house was very well set up, clean and nicely decorated. It was only a few minutes walk to join the Doubtful Sound Cruise and to take a river taxi to the south bank of the Waiau River where we walked the Circle Track through beautiful beech forest and swam in Lake Manapouri.

The only minor improvement mentioned by one our group was that the pillows could have been better and the bed a bit softer.

So much to like about this place. Suited our needs perfectly. Lovely location, nice and quiet, spacious and beautifully laid out and decorated. Well-stocked with the required kitchen ware, and such a delightful garden view from nearly every window. Off street parking was handy too. Dislike: only one. One of the beds (adjacent bathroom) well too firm for me (the other bedroom bed was fine for my friend, no issue there but it was noticeably different). Apart from that, it would have been 10/10 perfect.

The house is obviously loved as it is very spacious yet cosy. It was very quiet and had on site parking. The internet speed was great. The shower was wonderful and hot with a pressure like the Milford sound falls. They had a washing machine which was handy to wash my clothes after a long run. It was walking distance to The Church eatery (would recommend) and Frasers beach. The bed base was one of those cardboard pull outs which I have only ever seen on the internet, but you didn't even notice it unless your foot brushed past it and then it made a sound of cardboard which is a little unsettling, but it was fine and the foam pillows were really nice. I would come back in the future.

You are by a river, so there are bugs outside and sometimes find their way inside following the light, but I found keeping the room doors closed negated this relatively so.
