Thorntree Self Catering Apartment, Witbank

Unfortunately, this apartment did not match the description on Booking.com. The biggest issue was that there was no running water available during our stay. We could not shower, wash dishes, or use the washing machine that was advertised. Neighbours confirmed that the host was already aware of the water problem, yet we were not informed before arrival. The apartment was also very cold. The small electric heater had little effect, and later in the evening the electricity ran out completely because the prepaid power had not been topped up. As a result, we had no heating, no internet, no TV, and could not cook. The next morning there was still no water and no electricity, making the apartment effectively unusable. When we raised these issues, the host offered no solution, compensation, or refund. Overall, the apartment felt neglected, was not worth the price charged, and lacked several basic necessities. Better communication and customer service would have made a significant difference.

Bed was very comfortable and the place was very clean. While the appartment is nothing fancy, it had all we needed.

There was no hot water, but the host was able to resolve the issue with the timer, but that did mean we had to wait an hour after long day, to get clean.
