Contemporary apartment Great Location with private car park

We took a chance on this newer accommodation as a local event meant we couldn't book a Travelodge. The location was wonderful for what we needed. Easy to find. Entry was pretty easy with a key safe. The apartment was spacious. Free parking outside. It was quiet - we didn't hear any traffic. If you need a budget bolt-hole for the night, this will do the trick if the price is right.

Communications before our visit went unanswered. We requested the child's bed as the listing offers but this turned out to just be a duvet for the sofa which I felt a bit duped about. For a very new building there was a lot of repair work needed - tiles, light fittings etc hanging loose. The "double bed" was very small - our feet were hanging off the end. Hot water was very limited and the water pressure was poor. There's no central heating, portable heaters are provided but we didn't need them in warm weather. The building is not accessible and some of the flag stones on the entry steps are dangerously loose.

I liked that it had private parking. This is the only thing I liked about it.

The furniture is old and needs updating. The sofa is dirty with stains. When I arrived, I noticed no plug for the sink. Means you couldn't wash dishes. Then no plug for the bath ? The owner explained the bath had been misused? So no plug. Forget having a bath. The apartment was freezing. 1 little heater with 1 bar working to heat the whole apartment. Bedroom radiator not fixed to wall so couldn't use. Now here is the worst part, I was staying on my own as I planned a weekend walking and sightseeing. I booked 2 night but left after the 1st night. The apartment has residential stays. I saw groups of young men gathering in reception area shouting and swearing. The whole apartment block smelt of cannabis and drug users entering property. Front door left open so people can come and go. I felt so unsafe I left earlier than planned. I would not recommend this place at all. Its 1 downstairs apartment in a block of apartments that are occupied by some not trustworthy individuals. Stay away

Very nice and cosy parking right outside building and good location with shops close by. Heaters and fans were provided for any weather kitchen was well kitted out with appliances and utensils.

Few things were a bit dirty like a previously used oven tray left in oven and mess left in fridge

The property smelt very strong of cigarettes smoke which was awful to be in especially when we are not smokers so this really effected our stay. I did complain about this and someone brought me some air freshener however this was just a temporary fix and when we returned in the evening to the property the smell was still there and it was awful. Very off putting

Location was good for us. Plenty of room in the apartment. It was warm. Liked having BBC iPlayer and itv x. Parking on site was good. It was quiet.

It wasn't spotlessly clean. The furniture and decor was cheap. Ok for the price though.
