Lekker Gezellig Dive Resort Manado

The place is cosy with a family vibe, truly Indonesian, but aware of Western pet peeves. Meals were like a traditional family dinner, but the attentive staff made sure the kids had some comfort foods with french fries and satay, club sandwiches, pancakes and plenty of nutella. They also picked up what our kids liked (watermelon) and made sure to have it on stock. When they heard my daughter would be celebrating her 12th birthday during our stay, they arranged a cake, decorations and live music. It was a pretty great way to top off the day after getting her junior open water diver license. Rooms are spacious; the resort is with five units pretty intimate - which works well when like-minded guests are around; the location gets you to dive spots in 15 min from the resort's own jetty, but offers non-divers lots of flexibility to explore on land. One week is clearly not enough time to explore the area with volcanoes, waterfalls, local culture and jungle within 50 km around. Still, it was amazing to witness my daughter pass her open water diver skills under water and then pet a sea turtle together. The reef in front of the resort was an unexpected snorkeling delight, with very healthy-looking coral and a beautiful transition from mangrove, to sea grass to coral. A young moray eel lives 10 m from the jetty. The fact that sea grass remains intact around the jetty despite constant boat traffic is a testament to the care taken to keep the ecosystem intact. We spent another three weeks in Indonesia in all sorts of accommodations, including 5-star hotels, but Lekker Gezellig was my two daughters' favorite.

The wifi was patchy at times and water pressure on the showers somewhat inconsistent. I trust these can be resolved. In Manado as elsewhere in Indonesia, plastic rubbish in the sea is a real eye-sore. It varies a bit per day and the resort at least seems to make active efforts to avoid plastic waste (no single-use plastic around) and helps to extract and transport waste from Bunaken island.

Mooie, comfortabele kamers. Het personeel is ontzettend aardig. Ze doen er alles aan om het je naar je zin te maken. Goede locatie om te snorkelen of te duiken bij Bunaken met een eigen boot. Heerlijk eten.

Sehr schöne Anlage mit mega hilfsbereitem Personal. Das Essen war fantastisch. Tauchgänge waren gut organisiert und haben Spaß gemacht. Roller konnte direkt an der Unterkunft gemietet werden. Großzügige Bungalows mit AC und eigener Terrasse.

Superfreundliches Personal, helfen zuverlässig bei Organisation von Ausflügen. Das Zimmer ist sehr gemütlich und sauber, schöne Anlage im Grünen mit Pool. Auch die Tauchgänge waren super, tolles Team!

Alles war super!

We had a really wonderful stay and a great time at Lekker Gezellig. It is only 10 minutes boat ride to Bunaken. The cottage is clean and comfortable. Any issues were taken care of immediately. We love the quietness of the place with birds singing and animal sounds around. The staff and dive crews are super friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed the days we spent on the boat diving and snorkelling. The food was delicious and the cook can cater to our wishes and the children's preference. We also had a really nice chat with Changli, the owner, who is super attentive and accommodating. At the end of our stay we went on small boats to see the Tarsius family living in the mangrove. Thank you to all the staff for the hospitality. We hope to return again one day :)

We zijn voor het eerst in Indonesië en we vielen met de neus in de boter: de vriendelijkheid en de professionaliteit van de staf, de ervaring van de duikgids, de nabijheid van al de super mooie duikplekken, de duiken zelf en het eten.Het resort is kleinschalig, rustig en omgeven van groen. Prachtig, het was "lekker gezellig".

This was a good value place to stay, extremely close to Bunaken where the diving was great. The staff were helpful and friendly with everything we needed. The room was clean and very comfortable.

"Lekker gezellig" fits perfectly for this dive resort. The staff always takes the time for a friendly conversation and is super helpful. Greis and Inka really made a difference to our stay. Everything we need is arranged very quickly. The pickup from the airport was very well organized. We have enjoyed the food, both indonesian and Manadonese dishes, it is very fulfilling and accommodating to our preferences and needs. Breakfast is a pleasant surprise every morning and always comes with bread, fresh fruits and local coffee. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. We really like the terrace with the view, too. The pool is awesome for relaxing and bird watching. Additionally, the owner appears to be very involved and genuinely cares about the guests' happiness. We love the jungle vibe of the resort, very peaceful, with many birds and other beautiful creatures around. The jetty through the mangrove really adds to the experience, a perfect location to do mindblowing dives.  I would recommend lekker gezellig to anyone who enjoys the jungle experience and is looking for warm North-Sulawesi hospitality.
