The Peacock House

We went to San Antonio for my mom’s funeral. From the beginning we had difficulty with the host. She asked for a $100 security deposit before she would release the entry code. She told us to pay through Zelle, Cash App or Venmo. We paid at 9:30 pm. We were trying to get our vehicle fixed so we did not pay it right away after receiving her message that it would need to be paid before we got our code. She also did not give us a deadline to pay it. She did not send the code or confirm she received it. Because of our car trouble we arrived at the location at 2:00 am. Still with no way to get in. Messaged her, no answer. Called her. She spoke for a bit then we got cut off but it did seem as if she hung up on us purposely. She messaged us and gave us the code and told us not to call after 7:00 pm unless it was an emergency. We couldn’t get in and my 95 year old aunt was tired. I felt like this was an emergency. The peacocks noises (which she does warn about) were incredibly loud. The mattresses were difficult to sleep on; that together with the noise of the peacocks provided little sleep. There was a smell to the house in the living room. The seating in the living room was uncomfortable. The outside trash bin was full and had flies around it. There were some small flies in the house as well. One of the bedrooms had a Cheez-Its wrapper in it. Which is not a big deal except you are asked to pay a $130 cleaning fee. When we were getting ready to check out, we exited the house by 11:00 am. We messaged her to let her know we were out of the house. We parked in the street in front of the driveway to load my aunt’s wheelchair. She did not tell us that the cleaning people wanted to use the driveway. She then sent a text to let us know the cleaning company had circled the house 3 times and could not park on the driveway. They did not stop to ask us to move. We would have gladly done so. It was not a problem. We just had to back up.

I loved that it felt like home away from home. It was so spacious and peaceful.

I didn't like that we couldn't stay longer.

Loved the space and the Peacocks, they are noisy as heck though🤣

I didn't realize the bunk beds were an additional charge so that was disappointing but we made it work.

Conveniently located and the house was very well maintained. Could not ask for more as far as the amenities.

The beds were a tad soft for my liking, but generally acceptable for a few nights of rest.

I ca’e there to see my little brother graduate from the US Air force.. what I got was ma completely unique experience.. when they said Peacock house I figured.. these are just some freaks who have peacock decorations.. no they had actual peacocks.. and it was the coolest experience.. I mean literally they just kind of were our roommates .. I loved it .. my mother loved it… and I had to bring my little brother who graduated to see it as well.. literally an amazing experience.. we lucked out finding this diamond.

Comfortable and near everything we wanted to do. Also went for some walks in the neighborhood.

Peacocks were a new experience and nice for the first couple days, then the calls and droppings started to get old. The house was older and needs some updating. The windows and window treatments need to be replaced.

Beds were nice.. showers were awesome. Very clean

Kitchen could be better
