Travelling around Bali for about two months now and finally find a guesthouse which was very clean. The room was exemplary clean every day as it should be. Staff is really very nice, friendly and helpful with everything.

It turned out to be a gem for our 7-night stay in Bali. Coming in at about 1/5 the price of a 5-star hotel, it offered incredible value without skimping on comfort or cleanliness. Our room was roughly 4m x 4m with a handy wardrobe and an overhead shower and toilet behind a sliding door. The tiled floors and walls throughout contributed to a clean, fresh feel, and a hot water heater in the bathroom ensured a comfortable experience. Amenities included a TV with Netflix mounted conveniently in front of the bed, a small bar fridge that fit all our essentials, and a cabinet with ample storage space. Two bath towels and face towels were provided and swapped out after three days, keeping things fresh. The hospitality at James Guest House was nothing short of delightful. The owners, who live on site in their separate property, were super friendly and incredibly accommodating. They made us feel right at home, offered daily room service with beds beautifully made, and ensured all our belongings remained untouched. We even had a chance to chat with the husband who’d crafted his own gym gear, which he generously let us use. Although their dog was securely chained, it added a friendly touch to the place. The shared outdoor space came with a table, chairs, and a handy drying rack. After checkout, they were more than happy to let us store our bags until we headed to the airport, which was a real help. Our room was cosy with a firm yet comfortable bed, and the villa itself sat on a lovely quiet street just off the main road.

The guest house does have some room for improvement. The power fuses are on the smaller side at 6A, meaning you’ll have to juggle running the aircon with using heavier appliances like a hairdryer or kettle. The wall facing the street isn’t insulated, which means it retains heat well into the evening. Internet speeds topped out around 2-3Mb/s, adequate for streaming and browsing but less ideal for online gaming. There's no table inside for dining or working, nor is there a microwave, though the owner will kindly warm meals for you if needed. Rooms aren't soundproof, with gaps in the sliding doors letting in some outside noise. Occasionally, the dog barking at night could be heard when guests came and went, but a white noise generator soon fixed that.

I had a brilliant stay here, the owner was so kind and lovely, the room was great and spotless and it was perfectly quiet so great for sleep! I would definitely stay here again!

In a nice quiet area not far from the main centre, staff were always happy to see you and have a chat. Lovely pool and the rooms are spacious and cleaned everyday

The door to the bathroom is not ermetic and wifi did not work very good, but overall it was great and we extended our stay here
