My Suite Sorrento

The apartment is spacious and very well located, in the center of Sorrento, in a gate-protected courtyard. It's on the first floor with stairs. The apartment consists of two separate units, luckily it was quiet and no noise from neighbours. It has a washing machine, and a small kitchen with utensils. Check in was via a friendly person who showed us the space and explained everything. All other communication went via Whatsapp.

Although the apartment was well-laid out, the maintenance was a bit sloppy and needs to be looked at. There were no toiletries like shower gel and shampoo, apart from two small pieces of handsoap, and I had to app for two days to get a new shampoo bottle. Also the shower drainage was slow and was easily overflowing. A peculiar thing was that the wardrobe had a rail which was hung at ceiling-level so that a special tool was needed to attach the clothes hangers on the rail. Very unpractical. We stayed here for five days and there was no cleaning included, nor changing of bedsheets or towels in that period. I understand that normally cleaning is only done after checkout; which works for a short stay but for a five-days stay some cleaning or changing of sheets would have been welcomed.

The host switched is to the Corso Italia 176 Suite across from the original one we booked. It is right near the center of Sorrento. It is affordable and very comfortable. However, the best part was the host, Simona. You can’t ask for a more diligent, thorough and caring host. We travel a lot and you can always expect the unexpected. It is how the host deals with these that makes the biggest difference. In our case, the original property had a last minute issue with the previous guests that rendered the bathroom unusable. Simona switched us to a better property right across at the last minute. She also arranged for ALL our excursions, dinners etc and advised us when we were unsure between some alternatives. She was thorough and meticulous with the details and pricing etc. Always available via WhatsApp. She would check in with us every morning and evening. All this while she attended to a personal medical issue.

Nothing really. If you have trouble going to the stairs, our suite was on the 3rd floor… so could be an issue for some.

Great location right in town. Our host Simona was fantastic!! She helped organize Amalfi Coast and Capri tours which were amazing. Also helped with transportation to the airport.

The location was excellent, right in the heart of Sorrento. The apartment was clean and had a small courtyard which was private and only shared by the next door apartment. The furniture modern and bright. There was adequate towels and kitchen stocked with crockery and cutlery. The apartment was even cleaned during our 5 night stay and towels changed!!

The key to the main gate was difficult to use, although three keys were on the key ring, this was a daily challenge. It was dark leading up to the apartment and it appears to be a building that residents live in permanently and some parts looked derelict? There was nothing to light the gas ring with as the ignition switch did not work. We had a boiler fault and the next door apartment had a power cut which affected our apartment knocking the fridge out and causing the food to need throwing away. An extra set of pillows would be helpful as the 4 provided were in need of upgrading! The wardrobe was hard to reach with the rail being right close to the ceiling, a daily challenge reaching the clothes down.
