Villa delle Palme

Breakfast was awkward and uncomfortable. The proprietor hovers arounds the guests and makes you feel like he is being put out by providing you with a meal. Eggs were raw. Coffee was not good.

If you are looking for a bed and breakfast in Italy with an overbearing proprietor, this is the place for you. It is not a hotel. It is someone's home. They literally locked the front door two nights of our four day stay and we had to find a phone number to call to be let back in at midnight. Every time you walk in and out of the property the proprietor jumps up and chases you down to talk to you. He sat and watched me while I sat on the sun chairs and it was incredibly uncomfortable. There is a jacuzzi that was cold and not working the entire time we were there. The property is beautiful, and the rooms are nicely remodeled. It's a good location, but the management makes it very uncomfortable to stay there. The housekeeping staff is rude and unhelpful. For an expensive hotel, there are minimal amenities in the rooms.

Sehr schöne gepflegte Villa, welche zu einem Hotel umfunktioniert wurde. Die Suite hat einen grossen atemberaubenden Balkon. Wir konnten jeden Abend noch lange dort sitzen und das Meer und die Aussicht geniessen. Das Zimmer war sehr gepflegt und schöne eingerichtet. Frühstück wurde draussen im Garten serviert, sehr schön mit allem was man möchte. Die Villa ist ruhig gelegen, abseits vom Massentourismus. Wir konnten sehr erholsame Tage dort verbringen.

Max’s villa is, without a doubt, one of the most extraordinary places we have stayed. Ever. Each and every need was attended to with great attention and care. We loved mornings on the patio enjoying freshly squeezed orange juice and a delectable spread, presented with pristine cutlery and plates. When we felt like a swim, we’d take a dip in the lake or the wonderful pool on the property. And it goes without mentioning that the beauty that can be found at every corner of the villa, including wonderful new fixtures and furniture, adds the the incredible charm of the villa. But, by far, it is Max’s impeccable hospitality that made this stay one to remember for the rest of our lives. We cannot stress enough that his hard work, dedication, and friendliness make staying at Villa delle Palme feel as though you’ve come home. We dream of when we can return, and cannot wait to meet Max again.

Villa delle Palme stands out as one of, if not the best place we have ever stayed at. The Villa itself is beautiful, with gorgeous Murano glass fixtures and period furniture as well as being equipped with all the modern tech you could need. The finish on everything is flawless. What makes it so beyond compare is the location directly on the lake side with perfectly manicured gardens and direct access to the water. We were lucky enough to have chosen the Pinky Suite with it's huge private terrace which we could barely tear ourselves away from! Max and Francesca were the most wonderful hosts, we were made to feel like family and we were really sad to leave! The breakfast they served was delicious and plentiful and I can't imagine a better setting for it in the gardens overlooking the lake. They gave us great recommendations for eating out and enjoying the surrounding area and were so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Truly lovely people with a business that they should be incredibly proud of.

We haven't a single negative thing to say about the property or our stay. We will never forget our wonderful time there and can only hope we will make it back again one day!

Everything! The place is unique and wonderfully located with spacious rooms and gardens. Max the keeper of the estate goes above and beyond to make you feel at home.

Absolutely wonderful stay in this gorgeous villa. The hosts were attentive, friendly and always available. A perfect setting with a tranquil garden right on the water. Perfect breakfast with lots of great restaurant options for the evening nearby. Large parking area and locals who kindly helped us navigate some narrow roads!

Just before the villa don’t let google maps take you down the very narrow Via Valle! Via Colletta is much easier!
