La Masa Apartment

The apartment was nice but had a lot of issues. It’s spacious and can comfortably fit 4 people.

When we first entered the apartment there was an awful smell but we didn’t say anything, because in front of the building there is a lot of trash so we thought it was the smell from there. Later when we showered(with cold water, because it was not turned on) almost all of the water was leaking and it was directly going in the living room floors, then we realized that the smell its from the moldy floors. Btw half of the leaving room floor are separate and up from the water. We contacted the owner as we were confused on how to turn on the hot water and the next day he let us know that the switch is in the small bathroom. We turned it on and we got out. Later when we came in after few hours the smell was even worse, we check everything and saw that the small bathroom was leaking from the sealing, we immediately contacted the owner again as I thought that leak was from the upstairs neighbors. He came the next day and did something and fixed the problem in 2 minutes, then I saw that the leak is from the boiler that we switched on for the hot water. So everything was leaking and there is mold under the floor with the worst smell. The day that we checked in the owner charger us 32 euros for the city tax (that I thought I payed) and an additional 20 euros for late “check-in”. That day it was the eruption of mount Etna and all flights where delayed or cancelled so we should have arrived at 5pm but we arrived at 11pm which I informed the owner of what is happening, but still he changed us. The building is old and there is no elevator, the apartment is on the 4th floor and the stairs are very small so a big suitcase most likely will not fit. The location is not bad but not the best as It’s close to the a lot of great palaces but in a scary neighborhood.

Perfect location,very girndly and helpful owner an ther is everything you need in the apartment.

64 stairs to climb and the stairway is a bit too narrow for a big man like me.3rd floor no lift .
