Iya Kankou Ryokan

Cozy, clean and comfortable little rural ryokan with a lovely owner

清掃が行き届いていてとても快適でした。 立地も良くかずら橋まで徒歩数分、歩いて行く途中ラッキーなことに10匹以上の猿の群れに出会いました。子猿も数匹いていい体験でした。自然が素晴らしく、日本の田舎を経験したい方にはぴったりです。 女将さんの人柄温かいおもてなしが素晴らしかったです。こちらで出しているケーキはプロのシェフである息子さんの手作りだそうです。 チェックアウト間際にお話を伺ったので私たちはタイミングが合わず食べることが出来ず心残りです。 共有冷蔵庫、電子レンジ、割り箸が自由に使えます。 駐車場は建物向かいにあります

Super cozy and homely vibe. We had both breakfast and dinner and the home cooked meals where delicious and filling. It was surprisingly easy to communicate in english and they helped us book a beautiful open air onsen in a nearby hotel with a discount!

It was a beautiful valley just be aware that the roads are very narrow and treacherous and its probably hard to get around with lokal transport so a car and an experienced driver is preferred.

Very friendly lady who has been running the Ryokan for 60 years! Food was excellent, lots of local dishes. Amazing value for money

The shower/bath area is communal, and no en suite, if that bothers you. For the price it shouldn't. You might want eye masks in the summer

Amazing location a few hundred metres away from the spectacular Iya Kankou bridge and a great base from which to explore the Iya valley. Basic Ryokan that is clean, comfortable and warm in the snowy winter months. Parking was plentiful and across the road from the Ryokan. Included breakfast and dinners were plentiful and delicious and they were able to accommodate gluten free meal requests.

Nothing, the Ryokan met expectations. Only thing to be aware of is that the bathrooms are shared but knowing this in advance meant it was not a problem.
