NZIt is a nice house in a spectacular location, which functions more like a home stay, by providing many things found in a holiday home. It has all the trappings of a home, but if you want a modern fresh, well-appointed apartment this it is not. As mentioned by others there are personal items around that make it homely but also cluttered. Heating system works well for cooler nights, but no aircon for the mid-summer heat.
This has been mentioned before but the access is incredibly challenging! Coming up the hill from Regua (Douro River), it is impossible to access and we went 300-400 m up the hill to turn round every time to access the entrance. It doesn’t help that it is a 90 kph speed zone. The same issue arises when exiting the gate (and turning left), as it is difficult to see the traffic and you have to immediately cross the road and go uphill.

INWe loved our stay at this home. It's a lovely house with all the amenities necessary for a stay. Our host was amazing as well - we had a flat tyre and I had messaged the host, he got his brother-in-law to come and take us to the tyre shop. Kids were happy and occupied with the internet tv and PS2 game box. Lovely views around the area too!
The only tiny miss was that the kitchen knife is dulled and a fresh kitchen knife needs to be stocked!
