Sahan Tourist House

Had a lovely stay at Sahan Tourist House. Host is super responsive and provides us with everything we need including a great breakfast. Clean and tidy room with air conditioning which help us to beat the hot climate and have a comfortable sleep. The location also very convenient as it is close to the township. Surely we will be back.

Breakfast was good, and the location is very convenient, being close to the main road and near the Parakrama Samudraya. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the place felt safe and secure.

清潔なお部屋でした。 オーナーさんは日本滞在経験あり日本語でコミュニケーションとってくださいました。 一人旅の私には程よい距離感が嬉しかった。 自転車も借りれて助かりました。 観光に必要な情報も頂け助かりました。 奥様もニコニコして可愛らしい方でした。

予約していたのは1 デラックス　ダブルルーム　バルコニー付だったのですが、違う部屋バルコニーがない部屋になってしまい残念でした。

We had a great time at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. Location is very convenient for getting around. But the real highlight was the host - genuinely the best host we’ve met. So kind and went above and beyond. Breakfast was fresh, tasty, and had good variety. All in all, everything was good. Would definitely stay again!

Nous avons êtes très bien accueillis par notre hôte. Nous avons pu louer des vélos pour visiter le site archéologique de Polonnaruwa, à 5min en vélo de l’hébergement. Sahan nous a également aidé à organiser un safari pour aller voir les éléphants.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr zentral gelegen. Der Gastgeber ist stets bemüht für das Wohl seiner Gäste. Ich war nur eine Nacht dort und habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Tuktuk Tour in die alte Stadt wurde von Sahan persönlich durchgeführt. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und ich hatte sogar einen Balkon. Ein wunderbarer Ort mit einem aussergewöhnlichem Gastgeber. Ich komme sicher wieder wenn ich in der Gegend bin.🙂

The location was excellent, being very close to the ancient city, which made it easy to spend the day exploring the incredible historical sites and ruins of this UNESCO World Heritage destination. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the hosts were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with local recommendations. One of the best parts of our stay was the easy walking access to the beautiful Parakrama Samudraya. In the evening, we enjoyed a breathtaking sunset by the lake, watching the golden colors reflect across the calm water while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Parakrama Samudraya is famous for its stunning sunset views and historical significance, making it a must-visit spot in Polonnaruwa. The experience became even more special at night when we visited the nearby town and enjoyed the colorful Vesak Perahera. The vibrant lights, cultural performances, and festive atmosphere gave us a wonderful glimpse into Sri Lankan traditions and made our trip truly memorable. Overall, this guest house is a perfect choice for anyone visiting Polonnaruwa. Whether you want to explore the ancient city during the day, relax by the lake at sunset, or experience the local culture and festivities in the evening, this place offers the ideal base for an unforgettable stay.
