Great Glen Hostel

horrible dirty place

In general we had a pleasant stay in the Great Glen hostel. We had plenty of space in our room - the family room with ensuite - and it was clean and comfortable enough.

The staff were not particularly welcoming - seemed to be run by a lot of young people without much customer service skills. We booked a table in the restaurant, and confirmed when we checked in, but when we arrived no table had been reserved for us. Luckily one was available at the time we turned up, but other people were subsequently turned away. The food was ok, but the prices were not reflective of the standard. They had run out of cheese for the nacho starter so it was essentially £7 for a bag of crisps. And they had no eggs available at breakfast. May have been an off day but feels a bit like they have a captive audience from having not much else around so they can charge what they like and offer poor service.

Excellent. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Room comfy, clean and good value for money. Lots of available facilities such as drying room, shop, restaurant and self-catering kitchen

Ruhiges Hostel, schönes großes sauberes Bad, gutes Restaurant, alles freundliche Mitarbeiter.
