Gilligans Port Barton Beach Resort

The location is absolutely amazing, right on the beach, very swimmable water. Erika the hostess/chef was a delight, went above and beyond to help make our stay memorable, and her husband came to help us down the road as we weren’t sure we were going to make. Erika special ordered cupcakes for us to celebrate Mother’s Day as well and even organized a excursion short notice.

The road to get there does not seem maintained and should be in the main description on the site, if you had a car it would be impossible to get to. No A/C but plenty of ceiling fans. The location is remote which is nice but good to know to bring everything you may want/need. Signage needs improvement as the only sign

The location is outstanding....it's such a quiet, private beach area with powdery sand and calm, beautiful waters and picturesque scenery. Erika is amazing as a caretaker....the house is adequately sized and comfortable....Erika is a good cook! People do live /reside nearby, so if you want privacy during your stay, you need to inform the property owner...Mich is great. She went out of her way to find us in Port Barton to ask about our stay and express her appreciation.

This is on us, not the resort owners and/or staff....we should have/could have been more prepared. The place is remote, so it's important to have plenty of cash on hand...credit cards are pretty much useless here. Second, we should have brought pesticide spray (like OFF or CUTTER) because there are biting insects....thirdly, there is no AirCon here, so when we go back (because we will) I'll bring many spray bottles with battery-powered fans that can spray cold water - it helps provide relief from the heat and humidity.

Odlehlá a klidná lokalita v přírodě bez turistů, ubytování má soukromou pěknou pláž a hezky udržovanou zahradu - dům je situován hned na pláži. Staral se o nás velmi vstřícný personál ochotný s čímkoliv pomoci ( tím čímkoliv mám na mysli praní, zajištění nákupu, zajištění dopravy, zapůjčení skůtrů nebo zajištění výletů ). Bydlení se někomu může zdát méně nebo jednodušeji vybavené než je běžné v hotelových resortech, ale je to vykoupeno tím klidem. My preferujeme přírodu a klid, a vyhýbáme se masovému turistickému ruchu - takže jsme byli nadmíru spokojeni.

Ubytování nemá klimatizaci, pouze hlučné větráky ( nám to až tak nevadilo ale zmiňuji to, kdyby to někomu nevyhovovalo ). Dále s faktem že se jedná o odlehlé a klidné místo, se pojí pár nevýhod - jednak horší dostupnost - příjezdová cesta, po které se jede cca 20-30 min do Port Barton je z větší části pouze nerovná hliněná cesta, což může být nepohodlné, pokud si zapujčíte skůtry a nejste zvyklí na divokou offroad jízdu. Dále se s tou odlehlostí pojí fakt, že v blízkosti ubytování si nic nekoupíte ( tzn ani drink na pláži - není tam žádný bar, stánek, ani obchod ) - nejbližší možnost je zajet do Port Barton, nebo si za poplatek nechat nákup dovézt od personálu. Personál Vám v případě potřeby ale ochotně zajistí objednání dopravy do Port Barton a zpět ( TukTukem, autem i lodí ).

L'accueil souriant du staff, l'emplacement génial sur la plage privée et la tranquillité du lieu ainsi que le prêt de kayak et paddle.

Erica the caretaker was great and so helpful. She went to town and got me items I requested. Excellent cook. It was for the most part peaceful a couple beach parties .they even do your laundry. Very memorable and I will return.

The road was atrocious part way and kinda far from port barton but other than that it was awesome.

Michtie and Erika were amazing hosts. The private beach was paradise and we loved all the animals that were around as well as the food that Erika prepared for us. Everybody was so lovely :)

Nothing

The location is amazing - the beautiful coconut framed beach, with not many people around. Some boat tours come and go every now and then, but mostly we felt like the only people on that beach, apart from some fishermen families. The sea was super-clean, it was supposed to be jellyfish season, but there were very few of them around. The beach house is spacious and comfortable, Erica, the caretaker, is a great cook. She and Aica, the manager, are very helpful with organizing tours, etc., on the last night Erica and Regi, her husband, also organized a beautiful bonfire. The place is absolutely idyllic, magical. Unforgettable. Probably the best beach we have ever stayed at. Absolutely recommended. PS. The internet is decent, possible to work.

Mosquitos!!! The only thing we truly did not like - we used the spray, but maybe not enough. Having said that, while my husband and I were bitten mercilessly, our teenage kids did not suffer at all. Also, the fact that the place is remote means that there is not much stuff around, so you cannot just pop to a store or go to a restaurant, but this is not a complaint - just something that comes with its remote location. We stopped at a supermarket on the way there and bought some drinks and snacks, which turned out to be a very good idea. Also, be prepared that the last half an hour of the journey from Puerto Princesa airport is dirt road, so quite bumpy. But again, not a problem, just something to be prepared for,

Gilligans is my heaven on Earth Erika is a wonderful Person Loved to stay private, directly at a magical Beach Loved the free living Chicken, Ducks etc. To much to say A little Biosphere and Natural habitat
