Golden Age Hostel

First of all, thank you for everything, Filip. It was a great place with friendly people. Filip, the owner, was always there to help, and with daily events at the hostel, we got to socialize more with other guests. I highly recommend staying here – it truly felt like being in my own family’s house.

The hostel is basically a beautiful villa ,with an amazing garden just 10 min walking from the Old Town ,amazing place ,amazing wifi. The best from all looks to be the owner Filip.He is very chill and super friendly ,this makes the other guests to interact better with each other and create a good atmosphere. I just have one little advice ,you have amazing and solid beds but please change the planks under the mattresses , as soon as you move just a bit they shake and this couse discomfort. The rest was amazing

The location is great — just a 5-minute walk from the bazaar and close to the Old Town. The hostel has a big garden and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that makes it easy to meet people. The AC is strong (which you’ll appreciate in the summer heat), and there’s a beautiful view from the balcony. Plus, it’s in Ohrid — a truly breathtaking town that elevates any stay.

The place is quite messy overall. Surfaces didn’t feel very clean. In my room, for instance, none of the cutlery had been properly washed. It could use a good deep clean throughout. Also, not a complaint but a heads-up — I did spot a few small scorpions on the balcony, so maybe keep your shoes on when you’re outside.

Ohrid is a very special place, and if you find a hostel like Golden Age... well, you won't want to leave. The beds have a drawer underneath to organize things, and it makes it very practical. The managers are super friendly and make you feel at home. They organize meals, games, and even put a screen in the garden to watch soccer or movies. This brings people together a lot, and you end up making friends with everyone. Also if you are in the hostel for five nights, laundry is free. I recommend it 🙂
