Gorgeous views and beautiful hotel. The villa rooms are nice and have balconies with views of La Boca Water reservoir and the surrounding. The hotel is secluded and surrounded by nature. The SPA Los Arruyos, which is part of the hotel was definitely a highlight of our stay.

The property is lacking some maintenance in some areas. The restaurant is really mediocre, the food was disappointing on the three instances we ate there. Breakfast was even more disappointing: I think I had the worst huevos rancheros I have had in Mexico. Although the hotel is somewhat secluded, there’s a lot of noice from the boats and even form the highway. It was a busy weekend but, nevertheless, service was slow and the pools were not the cleanest.

hotel Rincon de Santiago is a nice getaway, by only driving 30 minutes, we get to disconnect from the city and its rush. The food here was good in terms of flavor. The staff was helpful and maintance responds promptly when needed. The view from the lake-side rooms are spectacular and specially the shower is amazing.

The food was good but pricy, the poolside bar offered met nachos at 20 USD for a less than special plate of cheese, chips and some meat. The breakfast buffet at 27 USD per person seems pricy for regular menu. I found it unappealing. Finally, the one item I asked for dinner, a Carbonara pasta, deviated from the standard Carbonara by including mushrooms, an ingredient that I dislike. What I really was bother the most by far is that both the days at the pool and the dinner, they included items that I did not asked for or at prices that are not stated in the menu (Mexican merchants cannot offer a price and then switch it randomly, it is illegal), so I had to be super aware of the checks to avoid feeling being robbed.

The views were amazing. Surrounded my mountains with the lake in between. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was very good for the price.

The road leading up to the property is narrow and windy. It takes about 7-10 minutes just to get back to the main road.
