It was a very comfortable and authentic stay with a local family. They were very friendly and had a cute dog. The family was preparing for a festival so I could experience what goes into the preparation. It was also very close to the beach, convenient stores and good restaurants.

I had a wonderful stay at Manis House. The family is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made me feel at home right away. The location is perfect—just a short 5-minute walk to the beach, yet still peaceful and relaxing. The environment is lovely, with a calm and comfortable atmosphere. My room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, making it easy to unwind after a day out. Overall, it’s a great place to stay if you’re looking for a cozy, friendly, and convenient spot in Seminyak. I would definitely come back!

A few things to keep in mind: the property is located in a quieter, more upscale area, which means it’s a bit farther from affordable local warungs. As a result, prices for food and services nearby tend to be significantly higher—around 3–4 times more than in Ubud—while the quality doesn’t always feel comparable. The beach area and surrounding streets can be quite busy, with vendors frequently approaching visitors to offer goods and services, which may feel a bit overwhelming if you’re looking for a more relaxed experience. The beach itself also has a large number of dogs—both local and those accompanying visitors—which may not be comfortable for everyone. Dining options in the area are generally more expensive, and in my experience, not always on par with the value you can find elsewhere in Bali. Overall service in the area can feel somewhat transactional, as it’s very oriented toward short-term visitors. For this reason, I found it ideal for a brief stay—I was there for a couple of days while visiting a dentist, and it suited that purpose well. For a longer stay, you might prefer a location with more local dining options and better overall value.

Loved my 3 nights at Manis Guest House! My room was large, clean and comfortable (bed was superb), great WIFI and air con, and location was great - short walk to beach, restaurants and shops. The family who run the guest house are so friendly and kind - from the moment I arrived to the moment I left, I felt cared for. They have the most gorgeous little dog too, who loved getting a fuss and belly rub. If I’m back in Seminyak this is where I’ll stay, highly recommend!
