La Sardina

Very nice calm and cozy haven close to the city. We needed a chill time and this was the perfect place for a nice rest. Thank you

Now, don't ask me why we booked this place. We booked it on short notice since our AirBnB canceled us. But when we passed Hotel California and then had to take a road over some kind of bridge getting more and more outside of Todos Santos we were starting to wonder. In the end you're driving only over sand road with construction machines left and right. The entrance to La sardina, which looks like a surf spot on the beach, is a narrow sand path. We were happy to find enough space to turn the car and drive the 20 minutes back to Todos Santos where we were lucky to rent the last room at the Gallo Azul and spent a lovely day and evening in town.

We weren't inside at all so we can not really judge, but if you want to be IN Todos Santos, then this is NOT your place. On the map it doesn't look far, but with unlit sand roads it is no fun to drive. Oh yeah, we didn't get any message at all from La Sardina for not showing up (OK, they had the non-refundable money anyway), so maybe they are already used to guests turning around once they are there...

Although I first had some difficulties to find La Sardina (as the marking on Maps and Waze are not correct, the one one Booking is indeed, it is down the road maybe 200 meters), I felt so comfortable once I arrived and was welcomed by Christian and his girl-friend. They are great people, making you feel easy-going from the very first moment, also travellers themselves, the place is pleasant and everything works. Would definitively book again when at Todos Santos in spite of the last meters to the place, which at dark might be a bit scary but by car it`s not an issue at all. I just regret not having had more time to stay.

Christian was really helpful and friendly and offered us coffee in the morning which we loved. The room is spacious and tastefully decorated, the bed comfortable and the area is quiet. Perfect place to disconnect and relax.

My room was fabulous, very comfortable to work from also. Really nice property.

The property was in a remote location, which I felt uncomfortable walking to alone after dark - bikes at the property to get around this would be great, or if you've a car or travelling in numbers, this won't be a problem. Again being a solo female on this trip, security is important, and some of the windows couldn't be closed securely. It was noisy during the night - dogs barking, etc, ear plugs in the room would be an idea too. :)
