Everything about the place was perfect . From the host, the service was good and they were available every time I needed assistance with something . The room was clean and spacious , I'm happy with the place.

I stayed at Umuzi Guest House for three nights prior to spending six weeks doing conservation in the African bush. It was a very enjoyable short stay, made so largely by the consideration shown to me by the hosts, Annie and Gary. They not only came to pick me up at the airport and then took me back when it was time for me to leave, they took me out to shop when it was raining (it’s an easy walk to the shops and restaurants when it’s nice) and they even offered to cook me breakfast. It was more like I was a friend visiting than a paying guest. The guest house itself is in located in a quiet section of Richard’s Bay with an attractive pool out front. My room was perfect for a single person or a couple, providing a comfortable bed, plenty of space to stow belongings, a nice sofa, and a kitchen with all the basics. The bathroom is very comfortable with both a shower and a bathtub. There was some difficulty with leaking of the roof during a heavy rain, but it wasn’t a problem; I didn’t even change rooms, though they offered me the opportunity as soon as I told them about the issue. In short, I would highly recommend staying at this guest house for anyone staying in Richard’s Bay, particularly if you’re there for an extended stay.

There was nothing about this property I didn't like. Even the leak in the roof during the rain did nothing to dampen my appreciation of this place.

The stuff was friendly, and the owners were super amazing. The place was generally peaceful and homely.
