So this is an attempt to be honest, fair and balanced because there is some positive and negative to report. As for the positive, the host was communicative, responsive and flexible prior to check in. Good directions to the location were provided and accessing the apartment was very easy! Michael also provided accurate information about markets and local restaurants…so that ends the positive. As for the negative, don’t be fooled by the photos or the few earlier reviews. The place looks great online but leaves much to be desired in person. It is not a good value for the cost! The maintenance was poor as was cleanliness: faucets drip, visible cracks throughout home where ceiling meets walls, dirty windows covered with cobwebs particularly in living room, poor Internet service throughout stay (less than 15 mbps throughout stay), lack of provisions like kitchen towels and oven mitts, and the worst was the oven was filthy inside and bedding on one twin bed that smelled of foul body odor. Cobwebs (host stated home was cleaned 3 days prior to our stay and attributed cobwebs to “country living”) cleaning issues, poor Internet service, and bedding issues and oven/kitchen (host stated that guests usually don’t use oven) were all reported to host before the 2nd night of our 6 night stay. The lack of kitchen towels was corrected quickly but none of the remaining issues were addressed, though all were reported. The host asked if he could see us on day 3, but after some back and forth about our schedule, we mutually concluded there was little that would be resolved. Final point, there were no instructions or guides anyplace in the home so if we wanted instructions about day to day things we couldn’t figure out (ex. Internet login and password), we had to contact the host. Generally speaking, if you elect to stay in the accommodation, you should not have high expectations. It’s difficult for me to believe that earlier recommendations were honest

La amplitud, el tamaño de las camas, que tenga 2 baños completos y un aseo, la calefacción, la vistas, la tranquilidad del entorno, la cercanía al pueblo. Que tenga gel, champú, jabón de manos etc

Algunas toallas estaban desteñidas, otra con la etiqueta... no daban sensación de estar muy limpias y se presentaban muy mal dobladas. La escoba y recogedor estaban en muy mal estado y no encontramos fregona, por limpiar si algo cae de la cocina. En en horno hay una bandeja impresentable...

Michael’s place was ideally located as we had a wedding in Castlemartyre hotel. It was cosy and clean and we were able to use the kitchen to make breakfast.

Great location and class surroundings.

Nothing really. However, one suggestion I would have would be to have a couple of fans for the bedrooms for summer months as during our stay the bedrooms must have been in the region of 29-30 degrees at say 11pm after a couple of warms days (24 or 25 degrees earlier that day).

I loved the size of the house. The bed rooms were a great size and the living area was brilliant for all the bits and bobs needed for kids. Washing machine and dishwasher were a great bonus.

Over all the property was really comfortable but the floors upstairs are so creaky, usually not an issue until the kids are up and about.
