Marari John Villa

Great family of John who went extra mile to make us feel like home. Good breakfast, great hospitality. Calm and relaxed atmosphere. Overall nice place to stay and would be happy to visit again in future.

The Air conditioner in the terrace rooms could have been better. Due to voltage fluctuation, the AC performance was affected. Feedback given to John and he took that positively and hopefully it will be taken care.

It's an amazing place. We really liked to stay here, super nice hosts. It's 200m from the beach, where you can find lots of great restaurants. The place has an AC in the rooms, and the rooms are quite big. The bed is comfy and huge. I'd definitely come back any time.

This style of the villa is very nice and the location is beautifully peaceful. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the waves and spotting colourful birds as the villa is surrounded by fruit and coconut trees. The family were very hospitable and the different breakfasts were delicious.

Ambiance and cleanliness

The AC wasn’t working properly in night… it used to shutdown within each 5-10 minutes intervals. This issue was very difficult for us as the climate was really hot and we couldn’t sleep properly on that night… When we complained about this issue to the owner, he told us that it’s due to electricity issues. Anyway owner should have solved the issue at any cost as fellow guests can’t sleep during hot nights.

The price was reasonable

Difficult communicating with host due to language barrier; English limited no french.

The family were so kind, welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious and huge! It was very close to Marari beach which is much nicer than the beaches closer to Alleppey. The room was tasteful and had great storage / hanging for clothes which is a lovely touch when you've been travelling for a long time 🥰 and the garden is was set in was blooming and very well-tended to.

They have cultivated a lovely courtyard to relax in, very nice family who cooked us a fantastic local breakfast. Location is a few hundred yards from the beach. Kindly let us into the room early. Massive and comfortable bed. Ac included in price was a nice surprise

Was charged more for the room than was stated on my app (a small amount and could have been a problem with booking.com rather than guesthouse) we had no blankets for the bed and only noticed when we went to sleep, some soap and a bin in the room would have been nice.
