Castle Pond House

The property is clearly well looked after by thoughtful owners with high standards and good taste. All the fittings and appliances are all in great working order. The beds are comfortable, with quality linens. Having a washer/ dryer was really handy, and the provision of dishwasher tablets and laundry capsules was much appreciated. There is a clear commitment to sustainability (e.g. Who Gives a Crap loo rolls and Smol products are provided for use by guests). It's easy to get to lots of lovely beaches / sites of interest from the location, and we enjoyed walking round the pond in the evenings, watching the bats fly in and out of the cave under the castle. I was pleased to discover that the kitchen is not shared as per the Booking.com facilities listing - it is exclusive to the property.

Parking is a bit awkward. Local teenagers used the car park as a hang out one day when it was raining (the car park is adjacent to the kitchen). Hourly bell-ringing from church over the pond was a bit disruptive to our sleep, as were the motorbikes crossing the bridge in the early mornings (but we had windows open as it was warm during our stay).

Stunning property with an amazing view of Pembroke castle. The beds were really comfy. The twin room was en-suite and the double had a bathroom next to it. There was also a downstairs toilet. The kitchen was really well equipped with a coffee filter machine and an air fryer as well as a dishwasher and full oven. It was a good base for exploring Pembrokeshire . Also for taking advantage of the pubs and restaurants in Pembroke itself

Only slight problem was the tight car parking space but it wasn’t too much of an issue for our medium sized car, just took a bit of manoeuvring.

Excellent location directly opposite the castle and an easy walk into the town centre. Comfortable, perfect base for adventures around West Wales. Great view over the pond and castle, a handy parking space (in a small town very valuable) and great host.

The place was a bit warm at night so would have appreciated a fan (acknowledging Welsh summers aren't known for the balmy heat).
