A gem of a find! Beautifully presented three-room suite with comfortable leather furniture, well-equipped kitchen, and large double-room (+ensuite). Very close to northern fells, and set in beautiful countryside itself. Full cooked breakfast brought to the room in the morning. We were only staying for one night to break a journey down from Scotland, and wished we were staying longer!

Sonia was very welcoming even checking if I had anything to eat after my late arrival. I only stayed the one night en route north but would very happily stay here for longer. Every bit of cooking equipment you could hope for including the holy grail of self catering...sharp knives. Full english breakfast was huge, my spaniel was very happy that I couldn't manage it all. Lots of thought has been put into providing for dogs also; making it very dog friendly.

Only one tiny niggle which I suspect it was an error, i couldn't find an oven glove or tea towel, I'm sure Sonia would have provided if asked without hesitation but my fault I didn't.

Pretty country location with lovely views across the countryside to the hills. Very quiet apart from the odd car or van going past. The annex itself is really lovely, well decorated and furnished with everything you could need during your stay ( we only stayed the one night). It wasn't cold enough to need the log burner, but that is another great feature, especially on colder evenings. We had our puppy with us, and she loved sniffing about and greeting the cows and sheep in the opposite fields! Sonia and Lee are lovely, very welcoming and accommodating. A wonderful stay and we would definitely go back.

The weather, as it rained constantly the day we got there! Too wet to sit out or have a barbecue. Otherwise, there wasn't anything we didn't like and this didn't put a dampener on our stay.In fact, the next morning was a lovely one with a beautiful scenic view revealed after all the previous mist and rain.The property is also on a road, though as we said, it's still a quiet, pretty isolated location with just a couple of neighbours, but just bear this in mind. We walked our dog along it with no problems, but there is no street lighting so on darker, Autumn/Winter nights you would need a torch.
