Inglenook of Deal

The house itself is lovely . The owner came out straight away when we had trouble turning the heating on . Unfortunately for us we arrived in very high winds . The wind blew and whistled through every window and door, both fireplaces howled with the wind . I couldn't get the shower to work but that could of been just me . My husband wanted to go straight home as the noise of the wind , the boiler going out 5 times and it was cold was too much. I'm sure this beautiful house is stunning in the summer . Placed between two pubs . Across from the beach. Perfect. Just not in the winter.

Nothing there was black mould in the property so we left after 30 minutes. The owner was dismissive and kept £581.81 of our money despite us not staying there.

We had to leave this property within 30 minutes of arrival due to uninhabitable conditions. A strong damp and mouldy smell was immediately noticeable in the living area. In the basement-level kitchen and along the staircase leading down, black mould was visible on the walls, and the smell was significantly worse in these areas. It triggered a respiratory reaction in my partner after only a few minutes. In addition to the visible mould, the intensity of the smell strongly suggested the presence of hidden mould behind the walls or surfaces, which raised further concerns about the property's safety. When we reported this to the host, she dismissed our concerns and was not receptive. We were then asked to leave, despite remaining calm and respectful throughout. Although the host initially mentioned charging us for just one night, we later received no refund or compensation for the four nights booked, despite not staying at all. This trip was intended to be a rare and relaxing break, but it ended up being stressful and costly due to the need to find last minute accommodation. Mould presents serious health risks, and future guests should be aware of this before booking.

Very nice location near beach and lots of nice pubs and places to eat. Comfortable house with added workout on stairs! Nice spaces to chill in the evening.
