Wake In Himalayas

Warm hospitality, excellent & healthy home made food. Great view of kanchenjunga

Had a great two night stay at the female dorm at Wake in Himalayas. The dorm is spacious, super clean, with individual plug points. The washroom is right outside the dorm, and is very clean, with (much needed) hot water available. Run by a family, the service is super warm and homely, and the food delicious. I loved the view from the common area / dining area - expansive mountains give you company :) the WiFi was fast and reliable as well. Laundry facilities / washing machine available at nominal extra charges. Rooms: Very clean and spacious dorm rooms. Private rooms are available as well. Food and drinks: Lovely food! Lovingly prepared and served. Had a thaali for dinner which was very reasonably priced. Breakfast had aloo parantha, bread omelette available, tea. Also offer a range of drinks including local brews.

The hostel is located below Lower Pelling - to get to the town, an inside walking track takes you 15 minutes. It’s an uphill climb and could be a bit strenuous - but it’s a very peaceful and green walk through some local homes. Alternatively, there is a longer, flatter route through the main road. It’s a little away from the town (and hence v cosy and quiet), and it might be helpful to have a vehicle to go around (scooters and bikes available on rent).

Everything. The property is beautiful,clean and well maintained. The absolute best mattresses in my whole trip. Staff attentive and caring. And they cook delicious food at very fair prices. I loved everything in my stay

I stayed in female dom for more than 10 days.. the property comes with the view of beautiful mountains , cleanliness, a lovely garden, simple & great food , and mainly an adorable family who hosted me with love & care… It was truly a special experience filled with comfort, beauty, and hospitality 🙂

I was lucky enough to visit the stay on Diwali. I got to witness their local festival and culture and they all were very welcoming and involving. The food was great, people were great. Special thanks to Nishal for picking me up, Rubina for the tasty food, and Anita for the amazing special Chhaang. And also Naresh and Rupa for being the sweetest host.

It's just a little far from the main city. But that can be a good thing as well for someone.

Cleanliness was top-notch. Family was very helpful and soft spoken, they provided the services better than 5star hotels. Everything was perfect, food was freshly served and they use organic vegetables from their own garden. This place is little distant from the hustle and bustle of the main area and that makes perfect for chilling amidst the nature. Would recommend this place to solo travellers, group of friends as the road is little stiff so elderly people may face difficulty but everything other than this was perfect.
